Episode 26F – Duel of the Fates

Mythology in all its bloody, brutal glory

Episode 26F – Duel of the Fates

This week on MYTH, it’s a clash of the titans as Paris fights Menelaus one on one for all the marbles.  You’ll learn that Aphrodite is a frigid bitch, that the Iliad is unbelievably brutal, and that trying to rob a corpse in the middle of a battle is a stupid idea.   Then, in Gods and Monsters, we’ll meet twin boys who’ve gotten too big for their britches, literally and figuratively.  This is the sixth episode in the epic saga of the Trojan War from Greek mythology.

This episode is so good I have to leave a comment. I have only read the Iliad, and this podcast has been both entertaining and educating. thank you so much for making it!

“Your aim is as ugly as your face”, RIP Pandarus, Diomedes roasted you good before he skewered you.

(Also just a nit to pick, isn’t Diomedes pronounced as Dio-mee-dees? If I am wrong just ignore me.)

You’re right. The version I’ve been using had a typo, and was printing Diomedes as Diomed, the Roman spelling, in some places. Thanks for the heads up.
